"For a long time already I have been listening to your creations, and words escape me even now... Having grown up in northern parts of Russia, a great portion of my formative years was spent walking and exploring the great woods in my rural region, which remained untouched by the recent industrial development. It was a deeply personal communion, and I entered into the green inner realm of trees and mist and scattered branches in the thin forest grass, merging with the flowing forest-breath and the beating forest-heart, and absorbing it's nourishing, calm, and primeval power...

Your soundscape rituals truly reawaken those vividly familiar sensations, and smells, and wood-feelings too expansive and too deep to be uttered. Not another album affects me to such a great extent as much as yours do. As the very being pulses with that raw, primal energy of the earth, swept over by the increasingly acute perceptiveness in the deepest wilderness, comes the realization that the umbilical cord has never been cut after all..."

Good day my brother,

I have received the albums I purchased in the past week last night and I appreciate it very much. I'm going to be taking and framing the symbol you complimented me with and hanging it upon my wall. I sat down last night with my girlfriend, someone who was completely unfamiliar with your material, and allowed her to listen to the two with me, Torn of This and TEC. She sat there and I watched a smile come across her lips as her head gently swayed and she felt as if the music was making various all natural sounds and it was like she was sitting in the middle of a totally vacant field underneath a single tree, enjoying the sounds amongst her. We took out our pipe and spirits and at once to a celebration of its beauty. I was really impressed and I will definitely be purchasing the other albums in the near future. Throughly will remain supportive of Glass Throat and everything that comes from it.

"Driving home from the haight district one evening, i crested the top of a hill, and slowly descended the other side for 10 blocks. It felt like i was landing a plane. I kept looking out over the bay at the twinkling lights as i coasted downward. All of this, while "Tree Descendant" was playing. It was such a simple, but powerful experience! I still see it every time i hear the song. Thank you BENEATH THE LAKE."

"The box is very special and very appropriate. The earth and moss, the evergreen sprigs and the bones - this is the energy of the forest, which is expressed so vividly in the cd through the sounds of nature that accompany the music. This energy enforces the source and direction of the music to such a great degree that I can safely say that I have never listened to an album and felt so intimately aware of the inspiration and spirit of the music as I have with Moss and Memory (save my own music, of course!). Indeed, one is allowed to experience the work by touching, smelling, and seeing, as well as hearing the music, which makes it a more powerful and effective expression than it could ever be without the carefully placed, sacred contents of the well crafted box. The music itself is trance inducing, profound, ritualistic, patient and beautiful, and perfectly inspires the emotions conveyed by the whole of the work.

I want to thank you for sending me a very real and honest work of art, that I have an endless appreciation for. For those of us who remember where we came from, who are empowered by the indigenous ways of our ancestors, and who seek to live in harmony with the forces that brought us into existence, this project strikes a very personal chord."

Thank you so much for the birthday gift for my boyfriend. It is so beautiful. The paperwork, craft, and natural innards are awesome. Really, really beautiful and meaningful. He loves it. I love it. He will keep the box for all time. I'm an artist myself, so I can really appreciate all of the fine work and thought put into this gift. Thank you again so much. It was a pleasure, and as always good luck to you.

"I cant believe it took me this fucking long, but at last I got around to listening to the cd you gave me dude, you are amazing! There is so much emotion and just shit going on in general in your music, it makes me wonder what the fuck im doing wasting my time with blast beats."
-Joe Grindo, Seattle, WA (USA)

"I have been amazed at how your albums continue to affect my life. I can definitely feel the intention put behind the recordings, i have never experienced anything quite like it, or maybe only very rarely, and the closest would be at your actual show (the Elemental Chrysalis), and at the Yule celebration in general. But you are very right when you say that they have healing power. I truly feel that. I truly feel that they were done with ritual intent. The meaning behind Ruhr Hunter is fascinating, with the mixture of a view into the dark undertone of the psychosis of the human mind, mirrored by the purity of your own spiritual connection. These two extremes exist in everyone and everything it seems, but the ability to transform or use the energy of the darkest parts to fuel the path of spiritual evolution is a powerful alchemy."
-Uznea, Seattle, WA (USA)

"What you (all) create, especially with the Elemental Chrysalis and Ruhr Hunter, are the tools that i believe, have been lost through the attempted erradication of spiritual growth, that has plagued mankind for some time now. This music is the sign of our time. This is what has been dug up through dreams and the bonds we have with nature and space. I respect the time and energy that has been put into these creations, as they are all familiar to me in a way that only the clearing of thick fog can explain."

"Just got my copy of Blood of the Black Owl with the demo cdr from Marty at Bindrune. God damn this album is immense. Its easily the best thing i've heard since Drudkh's "Blood in our wells" last year and I absolutely loved that record. Best thing I've heard this year so far, it absolutely crushes! I hope you continue with this project for a long time, you're a hell of a craftsman."
-Stephen Cooke, Banbridge Down (U.K.)

"The Ruhr Hunter music is fantastic. "Moss and Memory" in particular...Ritualistic. Calming. Introspective. At one with Nature. That CD is one very moving piece of art."
-Marty Rytkonen, Mayfield, MI (USA)

"As far as "Moss & Memory" goes, I would say I'm greeted with more of a therapeutic expierence while listening. Even while at my computer going about my daily surfing, the music is still able to draw me in. I can recall a few moments during several songs (especially the title track) where I felt almost like I was in a trance. Also, "Denned Earth (Decay & Rebirth)" has become a really personal song to me, due to its ability to conjure up some vivid memories from my youth, I have of the deep woods here in Michigan."
-Steve Tracy, Kalamazoo, MI (USA)

"I have listened to "Torn of This" and the EC album forever. Torn is on my ipod so I am constantly going to that for inspiration, long nights moving by with that record playing over and over...The Glass Throat packaging is so beautiful that I have given the Elemental album to several discerning friends as gifts and they have equally profound experiences with what the recording holds. Those are both incredible records, man. I also love Beneath the Lake. Man, you have been involved with some of my favorite stuff from the last number of years!"
--Cayce Lindner Oakland, CA (USA)

"I'm deeply moved Ruhr Hunter! The transition into a Shamanic craft has begun and I wish you all the energy of the Forests to embrace your journey ahead. Blessings to you & I'm looking forward to your next rituals."
-White Elk, Anchorage, Alaska (USA)

"The new Ruhr Hunter has been a permanent fixture on the 6 changer cd player. The recording is so complex that it is still too early for me to give you proper feedback! Where your last recording stunned me with the musicianship and the the multitude of different instruments-this one does the same but also adds a deeply personal, emotional feel to it. That is insanely difficult to do with noise music. Once again you are breaking new ground and taking noise music to all new levels."
-Nicolas Lampert, Milwaukee, WI (USA)

"Some very interesting music and art here on the small label Glass Throat Recordings, exploring ritual sound experiments through the fusion of natural landscape and meticously crafted folk acoustics. Artists like Ruhr Hunter, Alethes, Svart Ugle, The Elemental Chrysllis, run a mythic gambit straight through the forst doors of yore, and in the process cover diverse terrains that seem to include organic ambient, fret bending acoustic meditations of the John Fahey kind, 60's forest folk, and deep earth drone. Many releases have exceptional packaging and seem to be conceived as ritual devices. Open "the den" and find your music buried under moss and a mink bone or two... file under Forest Music!"
-Live TV Eye, Seattle, WA (USA)

"Your music is quite amazing. I found you through Vajra23, and I have been hooked on Denned Earth! Your music definitely taps into something, and instantly transcends ordinary consciousness. Very good stuff!"
-Layton, Champaign, IL (USA)

"I will definitely be reviewing those albums which are completely fantastic. The prodiuction, packaging, music, immersive quality are all at the very best of what's around. Your quality is just amazing, I literally don't know how you afford it. Nobody else even comes close (apart from Steve Roach)."
-Mark Coyle, (UK)

"Chet, my friend, "Moss & Memory" is astounding. I really enjoy the two previous RUHR HUNTER full lengths, but I feel this one goes further beyond the pale and far deeper into the earth than either. As cheesy as it might sound, listening to this recording makes me feel as if I am a tree growing and evolving in a forest, shrouded in perpetual night over millions of years. You have created a thing of beauty and wonder. Thank you so much for sharing it with me. The packaging and artwork are superb and to say they enhance the listening experience is an understatement. It is so wonderful to have a piece of the forest with me when listening to the record, especially in this environment of steel, concrete, and towers. Thank you."
-Space Prophet, Seattle, WA (USA)

"Ever since you gave me the new disc it hasn't left my discman! It is the absolute perfect shit to listen to when commuting through the city day/night to the practice space, or to work, it is so pure, meditative, and so very warm...feels like a bear hug. I think this as the closest step youve made towards what I invision being a record by you soley composed of natures many sounds.....This music could not have come to me at a better time.....it is strengthening and yes again meditative, especially in a time of disinformation, digital revolution, you know, chaos!

This record is going to resonate far and across many bodies of water through many continents. What a legacy you are molding for yourself, needless to say this my favorite thing you've done, well actually, it makes me want to revisit all your other records again. Thanks for the inspiration, and although we go 6 months without seeing each other, you are truly a brother and I thank you for laying your soul out there!"
-Andrew McInnis, Seattle, WA (USA)

"Dude...Woodlore Communion Is fucking amazing...Wow!! Your vision is costantly progessing inwards like your getting deeper in yourself with every release. Almost like you didn't know it was there, but at the same time you've always known. When i listen to it, I see myself in ancient lands and also take a journey within myself. Almost like dreaming where it is yourself and everything else at the same time...Very cosmic!"
-Arran McInnis, Seattle, WA (USA)

"You guys are awesome! Good to see Glass Throat putting out quality experimental drone tones" :)
-Eli Ellsworth, San Jose, CA (USA)

"I keep forgetting to mention how impressed I am with "Torn of This". It's mastery...One of the finest pieces of work I've ever heard"
-Stephen Garrett, Ashland, OR (USA)

"To these ears The Elemental Chrysalis "Calocybe Collection" is the most majestic album since Godspeed You Black Emperor's "Yanqui". Congratulations on it & sincere thanks!
-Alex Bulatovic, Ottawa, Ontario (CANADA)

"Received the discs on Saturday, listened to them several times since & they're all fantastic. Thank you very, very much. I doubt I could do them justice with words yet if ever. Thanks for making all your music and letting me hear it. I will be ingesting these sounds often and eagerly awaiting new releases from Glass Throat"
-Christopher Allen, Loveland, CO (USA)

"AMAZING stuff, all of it, Chet! Man, I'm choked up. You play what my spirit FEELS, every moment of every day. You are truly my brother."
-Stephen Kasner, Sacramento, CA (USA)

I want you to know how fantastic I think the Elemental Chrysalis is. Your performance Solstice eve was marvelous. I listened to the recording you gave me and feel that it simply does not compare to how extraordinary your music is live. I am eager for future recordings but am more interested in future shows. Will you please inform me of any performances in the future? I would love to attend...I believe in the spirit of this project.
-Ocean, Olympia, WA (USA)

Hey Chet, thanks to you and James for playing an amazing show. "The Calocybe Collection" is really something special, I've listened to it almost every day since I got it (and even while sleeping sometimes!). I wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your music. The Elemental Chrysalis is an inspiring spiritual journey. I look forward to hearing the new album and everything beyond.
-James Andrus, Seattle, WA (USA)

Hey Chet, I got silent uprising from you a couple weeks ago. I just wanted to say that it's an incredible album. I've given it several complete listens and just tonight, I went for a walk listening to it and there were some amazing clouds in the sky here in the middle of the city. I got home and stood on my balcony and just stared at the sky listening to it. Like it was made to go together. Put me in an incredibly meditative state. It's such a deep, full album with amazing packaging! I'll be ordering more stuff from you in the near future.
